Default Want Yakima Toyota 4Runner kayak rack but crossbars seem flimsy

I intend to carry 2 touring/recreational kayaks at a time on the top of my 2003 Toyota 4Runner. I do have factory crossbars on my 4Runner, but I'm not sure how great they are. They don't seem very substantial, but I've never tried to load anything on them so I'm not sure. I have friends that use Yakima kayak racks and they all love the way they work, so I guess i'm mostly interested in what kind of Toyota 4Runner kayak rack setup I can do using Yakima Racks.

Default both yakima bowdown & hullraiser aero are great toyota 4runner kayak racks

FACTORY RACK KAYAK RACKS
Good News vivian! You can install Yakima kayak racks safely to your 2003 Toyota 4Runner roof rack crossbars. The Yakima HullRaiser Aero kayak rack is designed to attach directly to your Toyota 4 Runner factory rack crossbars. No need for any adapters either. Also allows for enough room on you crossbars to use two sets of Yakima HullRaiser Aero kayak racks for carrying 2 kayaks at the same time.

The Yakima BowDown kayak rack works exactly the same way as the Yakima HullRaiser Aero kayak rack except that it allows you to fold the upright cradles down when not in use so there are no possible overhead clearance issues when pulling into garages or low-overhang entrances. Attaches directly to your Toyota 4 Runner factory rack bars too and enables you to attach two sets of Yakima BowBown kayak racks for two kayaks also.
