Default need a 1999 honda crv surfboard rack that locks

I have a 1999 Honda CRV with no roof rack of any kind on it currently. My needs are for two long (9+ feet) surfboards and also somekind of lock system for security of rack and surfboards. Curious what others are using??? and any recommendations / suggestions.

Default couple of options for 1999 Honda CRV surfboard rack that locks

I highly recommend the Thule 400XT Aero roof rack system to begin with. Installs very nicely on your 1999 honda CR-V. No matter what gear you plan to carry on your roof, you will need a multi-purpose roof rack base system. The Thule 400XT Aero system includes four 400XT Aero feet, four FitKit 273 Clips (specific to your 1999 Honda CR-V) and two square load bars (the 50" length square load bars are the recommended length for your roof top). You will attach the surfboard carrier to the 400XT Aero front and rear load bars.

Get yourself a 4 pack of Thule locks also to lock the 400XT Aero to the Honda CRV rooftop.

You then have two options for a surfboard rack. The first option is the Thule 554XT Hang-Two surfboard carrier. This is a great surfboard carrier for your two surfboards and mounts directly to the Thule 400XT Aero base rack load bars. You should then get the LashLock to lock the surfboards to the rack.

The Inno BoardLocker is the second surfboard rack option. The Inno Boardlocker also connects directly to the Thule 400XT Aero base rack load bars. Also includes a super easy to use specially integrated lock system to secure your boards inside the carrier.
