Default ski rack for 2001 vw jetta to carry skis and snowboards

I'm trying to get some quick advice so I can buy a ski rack online for my 2001 volkswagen jetta. What are all the components from Yakima Racks that I need to carry skis and snowboards? I'm leaving next week for mammoth baby!!!

Default yakima fatcat 6 / big powderhound 6 & q towers for the vw jetta ski rack setup

No problem with that fit. For your 2001 VW Jetta you'll want the Yakima Q Towers roof rack system. The Yakima Q Tower system includes four Q Towers, two pairs of Q103 Clips (these Q Clips are specific to your VW jetta) and two cross bars. You will then attach the ski-snowboard carrier directly to the Q Tower front and rear cross bars. You should go with the 48 inch crossbars for your roof top. You cna t hen mount any of Yakima Racks ski racks directly to the Q TOwers crossbars. Your best bets are either the Yakima FatCat 6 or Yakima Big PowderHound. Both of these carriers can easily handle up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards and you can combbine carrying skis and snowboards together. The FatCat has a more premium low profile appeal and there is more padding for the ultimate cushy ride for your skis and snowboards. All depends if you love your boards so much you want them to have a better bed to rest on than you do!!!
