Just received some great news from our friends Malone Auto Racks, located close by in Maine. They have a new product called the MPG311 Malone Katahdin roof basket (named after Maine's highest peak, Mount Katahdin - a very cool place to visit, hike, camp and explore!) The Malone Katahdin car roof rack luggage basket looks like it should give other popular baskets, such as the Yakima MegaWarrior, Yakima LoadWarrior and Thule 690XT M.O.A.B. baskets, a real run for their money. Priced more affordably than most other gear baskets, the MPG311 Malone Katahdin doesn't sacrifice any features, in fact it even includes a cargo net (other baskets require that you pay extra for a cargo net) and a wind fairing / bug shield for mounting on the front of the Katahdin basket. Uses universal mounting hardware so the basket can clamp directly onto any factory racks and any aftermarket roof rack systems from Thule, Inno, Yakima etc. The design incorporates nice curves and fast looking aerodynamic lines. Definitely looks more attractive on newer model vehicles than most other boxy looking gear baskets.
