Is there a car rack made for a 2002 Ford Windstar with 2 sliding doors?

I have a 2002 Ford Windstar without any kind of car rack on top and the Windstar has sliding doors on both the driver side and passenger side. Am I out of luck with trying to put a car rack on the roof because of the unique double sliding doors? I would really like to put a luggage rack on top for this summer. Any help would be great!

Don't feel left out janetr !!! There is hope and Yakima Racks has the prescription for you. Your doors may open differently than most other cars, but just because they slide open doesn't mean you can't have a 2002 Ford Windstar roof rack too!

Yakima Racks has designed these ingenious little clips called Q Clips that conform to the exact shape of your roof at the top of the door jamb and edge of the car roof. The Q28 clips are made specially for the 2002 Ford Windstar and work in combination with the Yakima Q Towers roof rack system. This system includes the four Q28 clips, four upright Q Towers and two cross bars. It is important that you get the 58inch cross bars too. This length is necessary to span all the way across your car rooftop. If you get the shorter 48 inch round bars they won't be long enough.

The Yakima Q Towers complete roof rack system installs quickly and you can then connect any Yakima gear carriers right to the cross bars.

Hey janetr, on the same token if you happen to have a factory rack on your windstar you can use the Yakima Control Tower System. The control tower system consists of 2 pairs of Landing Pad 1's that attach to the tracks in the top of your vehicle, then on top of that mount Control towers that hold the bars to the Landing pads. You can use a 48" bar on this application, but I would still opt for the 58" bars so you can carry more gear.

If you do go with the Thule Tracker system, or the Yakima Control tower system, get locks so no one can take your rack.
