2002 Acura RSX wakeboard rack with just yakima q towers and ski rack

ok, im looking to get a rack for my 02 RSX-S. However, I dont know what I need. I want the Yakima Q Tower setup, but I dont know if i need the stretch kit or not for a wakeboard since they are not that long. My board is 142cm long. On the yakima site, they list the measurements but no MAX measurements. The base Q kit calls for a 14" bar spread and the stretched kit calls for 28" bar spread. I was going to use a snowboard carrier to carry the board as well.

What I want to know is what would my best bet be to carry this. Im thinking I need the stretch kit, but I figured id ask cuz I dont wanna spend more if i dont have to. Also, where is the best place to buy from, i mean cheapest.

man a 14 inch crossbar spread that is wicked short. But you are right that Yakima specifies skis and snowboards as safe for transport using just the Yakima Q Towers without the Q Stretch Kit. For the length of your wakeboard you should be good to go to use a Yakima ski-snowboard rack as a wakeboard rack on the Yakima Q Towers crossbars. You can always buy just the Yakima Q Tower car rack system and the ski rack (for your wakeboard rack, skis racks do also work as awesome wakeboard racks) and load up the wakeboard. If it gives you the willys and just doesnt 'feel' right then you can always follow up with the Yakima Q Stretch Kit to get you that doubled crossbar spread distance (plus you'll be able to mount any other Yakima gear carriers to the full Q Towers / Q Stretch kit set up.
