I recently saw this product at the lake called a Maine Roll On. You flipped over your canoe, or I suppose it would work on a kayak, and just pushed it up on top of you car or truck cap etc. It was pretty cool, does anyone have any experience with this Maine Roll On?
I use one of these on my truck. Works great, eases the push up of the canoe and give it enought lift to avoid hitting the back of my camper shell. Seems to work best on a rack system that is pretty close to the back of the vehicle (like my track mounted system on my trucks fiberglass top, made by Leer)....careful what length you get, i think 3 lenghts are available, it's gotta be wide enougth to support your boat but not too wide to hang over the bars and you may have to offset it a bit so it does not interfere with the mounting brackets of you base rack...I use the 45" and it's great.
