Default lift assist system for 2008 GMC Yukon kayak rack

I have a 2008 GMC Yukon and wish to carry two 14 foot Old Town Loon kayaks on the roof. I want a first class looking arrangement. I am 60+ year old so would not like to lift the kayak onto the roof. I've been looking around online and there looks to be 2 different types of lift assist systems - a rear kayak roller system and a system that lifts and drops the kayak over the side using gas cylinders. Looking for some suggestions for what's best for my situation.

Default I use thule 897xt hullavator kayak racks

I'm using the Thule 897XT Hullavator side loading kayak racks on my vehicle. I think this is the side loading kayak rack you are referring to. This is definitely what you want to use for your 2 Old Town Loon kayaks. Nothing else comes close to making it this easy to load the kayaks onto the roof. I'm using the Thule 450 Crossroad roof rack base system on my car's side rails, assuming you'll need the same for the GMC Yukon siderails. You'll then mount 2 Thule Hullavator kayak racks to the 450 Crossroad base rack crossbars. Make sure to get the 65 inch length Thule bars with the Thule 450 Crossroad system. This length will allow enough room to mount 2 Hullavator racks.
