Because you have a quad cab you absolutely do not need to mess around with mounting anything to your fiberglass shell. This would require permanent installation with drilling etc. instead you can mount a system just to your 4 door cab roof to carry a kayak and canoe. The
Yakima Q Towers roof rack system is the model i'd recommend for ya. The Yakima Q Tower system includes four Q Towers, a set of four Q58 Clips (these Q Clips are specific to your 2002 Ford F250 crew cab) and two cross bars. You will attach the kayak and canoe carriers to the Q Tower front and rear cross bars. The 58inch cross bars are the recommended length for your roof top.
If you will be carrying the kayak at the same time as the canoe we highly recommend the
Yakima HullRaiser kayak rack. This is a universal kayak system that carries your kayak using a j-cradle design, which also makes it very easy to load/unload a kayak. Attaches directly to the base rack front and rear cross bars. It carries the kayak in a semi-vertical fashion, on it's side, using up much less crossbar space. This will allow enough room to also carry a canoe on the crossbars at the same time.
You can then choose the
Yakima Gunwale Brackets canoe rack. Connects directly to Q Tower base rack front and rear cross bars too. This rack includes 4 gunwale brackets and 2 heavy-duty padded straps. For total transport safety we recommend the pair of Yakima bow and stern tie down straps too.
