Default difference between yakima hullraiser aero and hullraiser kayak racks

Help! What is the difference between the Yakima HullRaiser Aero and just the HullRaiser? There's like a $30 difference in price and if I can use the cheaper one I will...

Default yakima hullraiser kayak rack includes factory rack clamps but Hull Raiser doesn't

I think Yakima Racks released the Yakima HullRaiser Aero in 2006 to better compete with the Thule 835XT Hull-A-Port kayak rack, which includes universal clamps for mounting to factory rack crossbars. Previously Yakima only had the regular HullRaiser, and if you wanted to mount it to factory roof rack crossbars you had to order the additional set of MightyMounts for clamping the kayak rack to the factory bars. So they included the universal mounting clamps with the new Hullraiser Aero kayak rack model to better position themselves against Thule Racks. If you have Yakima round crossbars or Thule square bars then the regular HullRaiser will work fine. For any other kind of car rack, including factory racks, you'll want the Hull Raiser Aero. I think everything else about the two models is identical. Also both now include a pair of bow and stern tie-down straps which is a nice bonus!
