Default can anyone confirm 2 makos / hullyrollers work on 2006 toyota 4runner roof rack

I'm about to order the Yakima Mako Saddles and Hully Rollers kayak rack combination to install onto my 2006 Toyota 4-Runner roof rack crossbars for carrying two kayaks. I'm going to use either the Yakima Universal MightyMounts or 23H horizontal Mighty Mounts as the adapters. I know I need four sets of the mighty mounts and two pairs each of the Makos and HullyRollers for hauling two boats. My concern is that my crossbars might not be long enough to allow enough room for two kayaks to travel side by side. Is anyone using this set up on their Toyota 4Runner roof rack and can confirm this will work or not?

Default two mako / hullyroller kayak racks will work on Toyota 4-Runner roof rack crossbars

I'm using that kayak rack system on my 2005 Toyota 4-Runner factory rack crossbars. You should have enough room for two kayaks next to each other. The way you can tell is by using the Yakima Racks online fit configurator and choosing a base rack system option (instead of one of the MightyMount direct factory rack attachment options) and then clicking thru to the last page of the fit guide to see what size bars you would need to get with the Yakima multi-purpose base rack system you chose. If it says 58inch cross bars are necessary then you can be pretty certain your factory rack crossbars are also long enough for two kayaks to sit side by side on your factory rack bars. What the fit guide is saying is that your vehicle's roof top is too wide for the shorter 48" yakima bars. Thus you can conclude that your factory rack crossbars are also around 58" to be long enough to span your wider roof top. You need about 58inches or slightly less (but more than 48 inches!) to carry two kayaks like this. If the Yakima Racks fit guide said 48inch cross bars are recommended for the base rack system then you would know your factory rack crossbars aren't long enough for the two kayak set up (you would want to attach two j-cradle style Yakima HullRaiser Aero kayak racks or something because they use up less crossbar space). The 58" crossbars are necessary for attaching the Yakima Lowrider base rack system to your 2006 Toyota 4-Runner roof rack siderails. Therefore you know your factory rack crossbars are nearly this long and you can go ahead and order the 4 sets of Mighty Mounts and two pair each of the Mako Saddles & HullyRoller kayak racks for transporting two kayaks. Hope this makes sense and happy yaking!!!
