2006 Ford Focus canoe rack for 3 door fmodel

I just picked up a canoe and now I have to figure out how to carry it on my 2006 Ford Focus 3 door model. The car has a pretty short roof because of the 2 door only. Is it safe to carry a canoe on this car. Does anyone recommend a specific 2009 Ford Focus canoe roof rack that I should use for safe transport of the canoe on the 06 Ford Focus 3 door model?
