Cargo mat anyone?

Just want to know if its worth the investment on a cargo mat for the roof box?

I think they are around $40 with tax and my thought is I can get foam sleeping pads (for camping) for less than half the cost and should do the same.

Any thoughts?

yep the cargo mat is a joke. camping pad does the same and probably better. yakima racks is on the right track though. there needs to be more attention paid to securing contents in cartop mount cargo boxes so they dont crash around. why can't yakima racks or thule racks come up with a ski rack or snowboard rack that integrates into the roof box so the equipment doesnt get tossed around??? lots of other possibilities too...
