question with cargo roof bag on 2007 Jeep Compass

I am wanting to use a soft top luggage carrier - the canvas type - but I am wanting to protect the top of my Jeep Compass at the same time. Specifically I own the 2007 Jeep Compass with side rails. Hoping I can use the Jeep Compass side rails to attach the soft top luggage carrier to. Any thoughts on this from people familiar with the Jeep Compass and/or luggage roof bags ???

Unfortunately the side rails on your 2007 Jeep Compass are decorative only and are not compible with any setup for mounting a cargo/luggage carrier to your rooftop. However the following solution below is an excellent set up for your needs...
