car rack bag or cargo box on my 2006 Toyota Sienna roof rack ?

I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna roof rack (factory installed) with the cross bars already and I'm trying to decide between a hard-shell roof box and one of those car rack bags that seem to be getting more popular (judging by the number of them that I see on the highway these days). I like the cargo boxes because they seem to be able to protect the gear really well and also everything would stay dry in the rain or snow. Not sure if a roof rack bag can offer these features. If one does I'd probably get it because it seems way easier to attach and also store when it's not on the car rooftop. Any suggestions? (picture of 2006 Toyota Sienna roof rack setup below)

Hi camperjane! My suggestion would be the Thule 630 Ranger 90 car rack bag. It delivers the best of both worlds when it comes to the outstanding features of a hard-shell roof box and a soft roof bag. The Ranger has a firm & sturdy base that provides serious protection for your luggage gear, but its flexible so it can roll up tightly for storage and not take up much room. A lot of people can't use a cargo box because they don't have room to store it in their condo, apartment or whatever. The materials on the Ranger are waterproof too, it is made of a heavy-duty water resistant tarpaulin and Thule Racks has done a great job of making the seams water resistant too, a problem on many other roof bags made by other companies.
