carrying a bicycle on 2000 Subaru Outback wagon trunk bike rack

I need to get a trunk mount bike rack for my 2000 Subaru Outback wagon. I only plan to carry the bike about 3 miles so don't need anything expensive for long highway travel. But I want to make sure I get something that is designed to actually work with the 2000 Subaru Outback wagon...I've heard horror stories about trunk bike racks falling off if the rack is not designed to work with a particular car???

I use the Thule 910 Passage trunk mount bike rack on my Subaru Outback wagon and love it. It was inexpensive but it is really easy to mount on the car and it holds my bike really securely. I do use a cable lock to lock the bike to the rack. That's the one drawback of trunk mount bike racks, they don't have any kind of integrated locking system so you have to use a cable bike lock if you ever plan to leave the bike on the rack unattended.
