So the question I now have is if Yakima Racks makes any kind of recumbent bike rack to go on my Toyota Matrix Q Tower round bars. Also my kayak is 26" wide and I have the 48" cross bars. Wondering if I am going to run into trouble with not enough crossbar space if i try and attach a recumbent bike rack next to the kayak?

Yakima racks does not make a specific roof bike rack for recumbent bikes. Instead you should seriously consider the
Thule 590 VR recumbent bike rack. Don't worry that it is made by Thule racks and not Yakima racks. The quality is just as exceptional as Yakima products and this recumbent bike carrier attaches directly to the Yakima round crossbars without any snags. Thule Racks has obviously put a lot of engineering and thinking into this design. The wheel tray is long enough to accommodate recumbent wheel bases up to 58 inches long. The Thule 590 V2 recumbent bike rack can also lock using Thule locks. I've heard that Thule Racks is discontinuing this model in 2007 so I bet you would be able to find this bike rack at clearance prices while they last. Not sure if Thule is planning to introduce a new version or not.
