Default fork mount bike rack system for 2005 Honda Civic

What is the best system from Yakima Racks for a 2005 Honda Civic roof rack system to carry a road bike? I'm interested in the fork mounting style of bike racks (the kind you need to take the front wheel off first and the bike attaches to the bike rack via its front fork using a locking skewer).

Default i suggest yakima sprocket rocket or steelhead bike racks on yakima q tower car rack

Hey there inthenavy, first off no matter what gear you plan to carry on your roof, you will need a multi-purpose roof rack base system. The Yakima Q Tower car rack system will fit your 2005 Honda Civic nicely. The Yakima Q Tower system includes four Yakima Q Towers, two pairs of Yakima Q112 Clips (these Q Clips are specific to your 2005 Honda Civic roof top) and two cross bars. You will attach the fork mount bike carrier directly to the Q Tower front and rear cross bars. The 48 inch crossbars are the recommended length for the Honda Civic rooftop.

For Yakima fork mount bike racks I suggest checking out the Yakima Sprocket Rocket or SteelHead models. The Yakima SprocketRocket is the premium fork mount rack that has the easist to use lockable skewer, and it has a wide wheel tray to fit all sizes of bike tires including fat downhill and freeride bike tires (incase you ever decide to switch over to the mud and dirt!) as well as road bikes. The SprocketRocket just looks awesome too. The Yakima SteelHead bike rack is great if you are only going to be carrying road bikes. Has a very nice lockable skewer that doesn't need to be readjusted once you've adjusted it for your bike fork the first time. No having to readjust with bikes that have the safety tabs on the bike fork too! A classic Yakima fork mount bike rack that performs very well.
