Default does thule 517 peloton bike rack have same clamp design as 589 velo vise

I heard Thule Racks 589 Velo Vise bike rack was their all-time best selling fork mount bike carrier ever so how come they went and discontinued it!?!? I was hoping to get another one but was sadly informed online that it's no longer available. People are saying the new Thule 517 Peloton bike rack has replaced it, but I loved how easy it was on the 589 to just flip open the fork block cover and adjust the little thumbwheel to clamp the bike fork down. Does the new 517 Peloton use this same design?

Default 517 peloton bike carrier is same except it allows bikes w/ disc brakes and shocks

yup, it sure does willy the goat! Thule continued with the same twin cam clamping design that made the 589 so popular, all they did was add a longer neck between the fork block and the bike tray so there's now room for accommodating most disc brake and/or fork suspension-shock set ups. I learned about this a couple of years back when I wanted to also carry my mountain bike (has shocks and disc brakes) and found out I had to buy the Thule 590 V2 bike rack for this bike. Wish they had come out with the 517 Peloton sooner 'cause I could've carried both my road bike and mtn bike using the same rack!

Default 518 echelon

The 517 peloton is a nice rack, but the Thule 518 Echelon is even better, it has an ergonomic adjustment knob instead of the old thumbwheel, and it has a silver finish which is kind of stylish. Either one is a great choice though.
