Question Thule 964 Revolver or Yakima FullSwing?

I'm looking for my first 2" hitch mount bike rack. Right now I only need 2-bike capacity but like the features of swing away hitch (only available in 4-bike racks)to access Jeep back hatch. I'm debating the need for a 4-bike rack which weighs more and protrudes farther from the vehicle back, when right now I only need two. I guess it makes sense to have the flexibility to add bikes if needed. I have researched both Thule 964 Revolver and Yakima FullSwing 4-bike swing arm hitch racks and don't see noticable differences. All comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Starfish

Default yakima fullswing includes integrated cable bike lock, thule 964 revolver doesn't

Both the Thule 964 Revolver and Yakima FullSwing 4 hitch receiver mount bike racks are the grandaddies of the hitch bike rack category and both work very similarly. The only real difference between the two is that the Yakima Full Swing 4 includes an integrated cable locking system that extends out from one of the arms allowing you to lock the bikes to the rack, then it recoils back into the arm when you aren't using it. It's called the DeadLock by the way, and is the 2nd half of this included accessory. The other part of the DeadLock system is a hitch lock that locks the bike rack itself to the trailer hitch receiver. Both the hitch lock and the integrated cable lock use the same key to lock and unlock too. The Thule 964 Revolver does come with a hitch lock but you would need to use an additional cable lock to lock the bikes to the rack. Otherwise both racks feature the super convenient swing away access to the back of your car and total stability so the bikes won't swing around and hit each other or the back of your car.

Another very cool hitch bike rack is the Thule 916 T2. This is neat because it folds up when not in use and down when you want to use it. The bikes go on incredibly fast too. Also the bikes ride down much lower to the ground so any car with a rear hatch that opens upward can usually lift up for rear access to the car without hitting the bikes on the Thule 916 T2 bike rack. This rack will allow you to carry two bikes, but if you want to carry 3-4 bicycles you can insert the Thule 918 Add On to the end of the 916 T2. This is nice because you can take it off when you are only carrying 1-2 bikes.
