Default is thule 450 correct for a 2003 Land Rover Discovery canoe rack

Just want to verify the Thule 450 CrossRoad roof rack system is the correct solution for attaching to my 2003 Land Rover Discovery side rails. I'll be carrying a canoe on the roof rack.

Default for 2003 landrover discovery canoe rack use thule 450 / 579xt

you are correct armchaircowboy, the Thule 450 Crossroad base rack system attaches directly to your 03 Land Rover Discovery factory rack side rails, converting your factory rack side rails into a sturdy base rack system capable of safely transporting your canoe. Includes a set of four Thule 450 Crossroad Feet and a pair of load bars. The 50" load bars are the recommended length for the Land Rover Discovery.

You can load the canoe directly onto the crossbars of the Thule 450 system and use rack straps to secure the canoe etc. But a much better solution is to attach the Thule 579XT canoe rack to the Thule 450 Crossroad cross bars. It is an excellent choice for securely transporting a canoe. Includes two heavy duty straps and two bow-stern tie down straps for very secure and safe transport. You won't have to deal with any side to side / lateral shifting of the canoe or bow and stern rocking of the canoe either.
