do thule racks really not work on 2005 Kia Optima roof?

I have a Thule car rack system and Thule kayak racks that I used on a previous car I sold when I bought a 2005 Kia Optima sedan. But I looked at the Thule fitment guide and it's showing a 'no fit' for a Thule 2005 Kia Optima roof rack system. If this is true does anyone else have any suggestions for how I can use my current Thule kayak racks on the Kia Optima roof top? thanks.

yeah thats correct d.carson. Thule Racks does not have a general purpose roof rack system that is compatible with the 2005 Kia Optima that you could then attach your kayak racks to. However, Yakima Racks makes the Yakima Q Towers multi-purpose roof rack system that will fit your Kia Optima roof top perfectly. The Yakima Q Tower system includes four Q Towers, two pairs of Q5 Clips (these Q Clips are specific to your 2005 Kia Optima) and two cross bars. You can then attach your Thule kayak carriers directly to the Q Tower front and rear cross bars (Thule kayak racks are designed to be compatible with Yakima round bars). Remember to choose the 58 inch length Yakima crossbars for your rooftop. This length will allow enough room to attach the kayak racks and carry your kayaks at the same time.
