is the yakima lowrider correct for a 2007 GMC Acadia roof rack

Was told the Yakima Lowrider system is what I need for a roof rack system on my 2007 GMC Acadia to get crossbars, the GMC Acadia only has the side rails right now. I would also be interested in what others think would be the best solution for a camping equipment carrier to mount onto the roof rack.

The regular Yakima Lowrider roof rack system will NOT work on the 07 GMC Acadia side rails. Instead you need the Yakima Lowrider MAX system which is made to fit low profile / hard to fit siderails such as the GMC Acadia. This system includes four Lowrider MAX towers, four C3 Claws (made specifically for your 07 GMC Acadia) and two cross bars. The Yakima Lowrider MAX roof rack system w/ C3 Claws will fit your vehicle perfectly and is very quick to install (easy-to-follow instructions included). Attaches directly to your rooftop siderails. The 48" crossbars are the recommended length for your vehicle.

The Yakima MegaWarrior basket rack will then attach directly to the Lowrider MAX front and rear cross bars. This as a superb general purpose camping equipment/cargo gear carrier. I also recommend connecting the optional Yakima MegaWarrior extension which increases the basket volume by 40% and looks very cool too!
