can i install a Thule car rooftop lugga bag on a 06 GMC Yukon XL roof rack

I have a 2006 GMC Yukon XL factory roof rack with the cross bars and I'm trying to find out whether or not I can attach a car top luggage bag to the Yukon roof rack without having to first get a new aftermarket base rack system or something. I am most interested in the Thule 866 Escape bag and the Thule 856 Nomad bag. Is anyone using one of these bags on the Yukon XL roof rack directly?

I'm using the Thule 866 Escape II roof bag on my 2006 GMC Yukon XL roof rack crossbars no problem. A word of caution however, you should definitely go with the Thule 866 Escape instead of the 856 Nomad if you are going to be using it in the rain or snow. I had to return the Nomad because it wasn't totally waterproof. Ditto for all cheap car rooftop luggage bags I believe. This is a case of you get what you paid for!
