Default unclear about using rooftop cargo bag on 07 ford fusion

I would really like to carry a rooftop cargo bag on my 07 Ford Fusion. I've been checking out some car rack websites and it looks like most of the roof bags attach to some kind of base rack system. Do I need one of these racks on my Ford Fusion in order to use a roof bag? If so, I'm not sure which one to install???

Default need thule 400xt / 866 escape II cargo bag on the 2007 ford fusion rooftop

Yes rarejade you need to install a multi-purpose base rack system to your 2006 ford fusion roof top in order to use a luggage cargo bag. The Thule 400XT Aero complete roof rack base system is made to fit your vehicle perfectly. The Thule 400XT system includes four 400XT Aero Feet, four FitKit 2167 Clips (these clips are specific to your vehicle) and two load bars. You will attach the luggage cargo bag to the 400XT Aero front and rear load bars. The 50 inch bars are the recommended length for your v06 ford fusion rooftop.

The Thule 866 Escape II roof bag is my hands down recommendation. Attaches directly to the base rack load bars. This is an excellent luggage cargo bag that offers great carrying capacity, is the only roof bag that is truly waterproof I think and quickly removes and folds for easy storage when not in use. I also really like that it has an astounding 15 cubic feet cargo capacity, enough for a whole family, i don't think any other roof bag holds that much.
