thule 830 'The Stacker' holds 4 kayaks & makes a great 2003 ford explorer kayak rack
The Thule 830 'The Stacker' kayak rack is ideal for use on your 2003 Ford Explorer crossbars if you need to carry 4 kayaks. And you don't need any extra adapters or anything. The 830 Kayak Stacker connects right to the Ford Explorer crossbars. It does come with a pair of heavy duty straps which will strap down the two kayaks on one side of the 830 Stacker. But you will need to get another pair of Thule 523 Heavy Duty Straps to strap down the 3rd and 4th kayak on the other side. The optional Thule 556 cross bar pads are not necessary but they do offer even more stability and help to keep the kayaks stationary in place. They also protect the sides of the kayaks.
