clueless about kayak rack system for 2003 Ford Explorer roof rack factory bars

I have a 2003 Ford Explorer factory rack and absolutely have no idea where to begin looking for a kayak rack system for the vehicle. I want to carry a couple of sea kayaks and wondering if the crossbars on the Ford Explorer roof rack factory setup can handle the weight or if there's even enough room? Basically looking for any advice others can provide on a solid kayak rack system.

Your current 2003 Ford Explorer factory roof rack crossbars are not rated to safely handle the weight of kayaks. Instead you should mount the Thule 450 CrossRoad roof rack system to the Ford Explorer roof side rails (the pair of bars that run parallel to each other from the front to back of the roof). The 450 CrossRoad converts your factory rack into a sturdy base rack system capable of safely transporting multiple kayaks.
