Can I put a Thule truck rack on my 2005 Ford F-150 Downey Tonneau Cover

I have a 2005 F150 Supercrew with a 5 1/2 foot box. On the box, I have a Downey LTD Tonneau cover.

I am looking for a Thule solution to carry a canoe and a kayak above the tonneau cover while pulling a travel trailer (using the 2" receiver is out). I am expecting to put one bar on the roof of the cab. I would like to the second bar on the box and have it work with the tonneau cover. The back 6-8 inches of the box rails would be the best place to attach a rack.

I am planning to use 66 inch bars.

I expect that the rack may interfere with the tonneau cover opening fully.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think the Downey LTD Tonneau cover will allow you to mount any kind of tonneau truck rack solution. I'd suggest going with the truck cab roof kayak & canoe rack setup instead. The Thule 400XT complete roof rack system works great as a 2005 Ford F150 Super Crew rack. Just make sure get the set of Thule 2140 FitKit Clips for your truck. You will still have lots of distance between the front and rear load bars to carry long stuff like a kayak or canoe. Thule Racks has tested this set up and finds it to be thoroughly stable when transporting canoes and kayaks etc. And for total transport safety, Thule Racks includes a pair of Thule 855 QuickDraw bow/stern tie down straps with their canoe carriers and kayak carriers so the canoe and kayak are completely secured during travel. The Thule 579XT Canoe Rack attaches to the Thule load bars and is great for the canoe. I like the Thule 878Xt / 877XT combination for a killer kayak rack. The really nice aspect of this cab roof setup is that your Tonneau cover can probably open fully, or near to it at least.
