the 450r crossroad makes a sweet 2005 chevy uplander car rack system
hey gonavyseal, thanks for attaching the pic that helps! Thule Racks makes a couple of very cool car rack systems that are specifically designed to attach to cars with side rails. Personally I'd go with the Thule 450R Crossroad roof rack system. It is a bit more expensive than the other option but it will look very cool on your Chevy Uplander rooftop with its modern looking design and curves. The 450R Crossroad includes four 450R feet that clamp onto the cartop side rails. You will then attach the included pair of Rapid Aero bars to the four 450R feet. Thule Racks recommends the 47 inch Rapid Aero bars for the 2005 Chevy Uplander. You can then connect any of the Thule gear carriers to the crossbars. You will have to pay attention to determine if a gear carrier you choose needs an Xadapt kit to enable the gear carrier to attach to the Rapid Aero bars. Some gear carriers need the Xadapts and others don't. You'll just have to read the product descriptions to find out if they're necessary or not. By the way the other option is the standard Thule 450 Crossroad base rack system. Its essentially the same as the 450R version except that it is more classic looking and uses the square Thule bars instead of the more sleek looking elliptical Rapid Aero bars that are part of the 450R Crossroad car rack system package. You'll also need the 50 inch bars if you go with the regular 450 Crossroad to set up your 2005 Chevrolet Uplander car rack system.
