hauling 13 foot sit on top hurricane kayak on 2000 Chevy Silverado

I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado (regular cab version) and I want to carry a 13 foot sit on top hurricane kayak. What would be a better solution a pickup truck bed rack system or something that mounts to the cab roof. There is no trailer hitch receiver installed so that really isnt an easy option.

The Thule 421 Xsporter truck rack is an excellent solution for transporting a kayak in your 2000 Chevy Silverado truckbed. You can then connect something like the Thule 883 Glide-and-Set kayak rack directly to the Thule 421 Xsporter front and rear load bars for transporting your kayak.
