Chevrolet Suburban Z71 Roof Box with Yakima SkyBox 18 Cargo Box

Chevy Suburban Z71 confirmed install: The Yakima SkyBox 18 fits onto the Chevrolet Suburban Z71 roof rack factory crossbars just fine, the even bigger Yakima SkyBox 21 with 21 cubic foot could have been used as well and still stayed within the proportions of the Chevy Suburban's roof line. The included cargo box mounting hardware grips the factory crossbars really well and is very solid. This set up can still be achieved with a Chevy Suburban Z71 that doesn't have the crossbars, just the side rails that run parallel from front to back of the roof. Installing the Yakima EasyRider base roof rack system to the side rails is recommended. The 58 inch crossbars are the length to go with too. Then the Yakima SkyBox series of cargo boxes can be mounted right onto the Yakima EasyRider crossbars.
