Default Chevrolet Equinox Roof Box with Thule 603 Ascent 1500 Cargo Box

Chevy Equinox roof box confirmed install: The main concern with this install is the Chevrolet Equinox roof antenna, which points up nearly vertical and must be removed so not to be severely bent or broken by the roof box. The antenna does easily remove by simply unscrewing it without any tools necessary. You'll want to be sure you have CD's, an mp3 player or satellite radio for entertainment though. Also the rear hatch with it's continuation of the roof line flips up at an angle that will contact the back of the cargo box even with the Thule 603 Ascent roof box in the most forward position possible. Not the ideal situation but it really is a huge deal to not be able to open therear hatch all the way open. There are a huge percentage of cargo boxes on vehicles out there where the rear hatch can't open all the way. Just open the rear hatch slowly or place a towel or something between the painted surface of the hatch and the back of the box and open the hatch gently. Otherwise, this is a very simple install and the Thule 603 Ascent cargo box mounts right onto the Chevrolet Equinox roof rack factory crossbars perfectly.
