Default 1999 suzuki vitara kayak rack advice needed

What do i need for a 1999 Suzuki Vitara kayak rack on a Vitara that currently only has the bars that run from the front to back of the roof, no crossbars to attach a kayak carrier or anything. I ideally want to carry 2 kayaks if possible. Looking for some advice!!!

Default thule 450 crossroad & thule 835pro best setup for 1999 Suzuki Vitara kayak rack

The 450 CrossRoad roof rack converts your 1999 Suzuki Vitara factory rack side rails into a sturdy base rack system capable of safely transporting your kayaks. Includes four 450 Crossroad Feet that attach directly to your roof siderails, and also a pair of Thule load bars that connect to the 450 Feet. Choosing a longer length pair of bars such as the 58 inch bars will also provide enough crossbar space to carry a your kayaks using the style of kayak carriers that transports them flat and side by side. If you opt for the j-cradle style kayak carriers (the Thule 835PRO or 835XTR are my recommendations ) then you can use the shorter 50 inch length bars, which is nice because you won't have any extra length bars sticking out over the edge of your roof. Generally a much cleaner look.

The Thule 835PRO Hull-A-Port kayak rack is a great universal kayak rack attachment that uses a j-cradle design for easy loading/unloading of your kayak and attaches to the Thule 450 CrossRoad load bars. This kayak carrier also allows the cradles to fold down when not in use, avoiding any clearance issues such as a garage etc. Get two for carrying two kayaks. These carriers use up much less load bar space than other kayak carriers and will allow you to attach two of them to the 50" load bars at the same time. The Thule 835XTR Hull-A-Port kayak rack is exactly the same as the 835PRO except the cradles cannot be folded down.

The Thule 883 Glide-and-Set kayak rack is another excellent option and offers an easy way to load your kayaks. This system is a complete set for carrying a kayak. Includes one pair of 875XT Hydro-Glide saddles (for the rear load bar) and one pair of 878XT Set to Go saddles (for the front load bar). You'll need to go with the longer 58" load bars with the Thule 450 CrossRoad base rack if you plan to attach two of these kayak racks to the load bars for carrying 2 kayaks.
