gear box for 2005 BMW x5 roof rack to carry skis snowboards & baby jogger

We currently have Yakima Ski / Snowboard racks; however, we have a newborn and will be traveling and need extra storage space in the car. I am looking for a gear box that can handle snowboards / luggage/ baby gear any time of the year. During the winter there may be anywhere from 2-4 snowboards or a 1-2 pair of skis. Now, the newborn's gear needs to be taken into consideration especially for summer driving trips. Yakima Racks has a number of gear boxes but I can't tell what fits well with our SUV without overpowering the performance and look.

I pretty much needed to address all your same concerns when our little bambino arrived. Where are we going to put everything now??? After looking at everything that's out there we finally chose the Yakima SkyBox Pro 21. It will complement your 2005 BMW X5 nicely (as it does ours) and is really the only gear box that will offer the room you'll need for all the baby gear and luggage, along with skis and snowboards during the winter. The height of the box also provides enough clearance for even a modern baby jogger or stroller in the folded position. FYI the Yakima SkyBox 21 is exactly the same as the SkyBox Pro except that it is black (the SkyBox Pro is silver).
