is thule 887 slipstream kayak rack a good setup for 2002 acura mdx roof rack

I have a 2002 Acura MDX roof rack with the crossbars on it and wondering what is the best way to get a kayak up on the roof. I friend of mine told me about Thule Racks 887 Slipstream kayak rack and that it might be a good kayak rack system for my needs. I'll be loading the kayak onto the car rack by myself and i'm not really that tall.

yes get the Thule 887 Slipstream kayak rack for your factory installed Acura MDX roof rack crossbars. The Slipstream kayak rack system is definitely made with you and your kind of car rack in mind. Your crossbars are not situated nearly far enough back on the roof top to prevent the kayak from hitting and sliding along the end of the roof. Not a big deal if you have a crappy ford festiva that you don't care about but an Acura MDX, I'm thinking that's mint and you don't want to go scratching it up. So the 887 Sliptream kayak rack is the ticket. It mounts directly to your factory rack crossbars and has adjusting base poles that slide in and out kind like someone playing a a trombone. You can extend the bars out as far as you need toward the rear of your roof top to ensure the rear kayak saddles are in a place that when you load up the kayak onto the saddles the boat won't contact the car roof.
