Hey b3ach bVm, I can't speak for other companies that make roof bags, but the all-weather proofing is really the only noticeable difference between the Yakima GetOut Pro and the less expensive GetOut model. The GetOut Pro does have an extra finish on the outside that allows you to more easily wipe off any insect road kill and stuff that you might get on the bag. The Get Out is designed primarily for day outings when you are pretty sure the weather won't throw any curveballs at you. Otherwise they both have the same geat padding and extra heavy-duty padding on the bottom so your beach gear is protected, and your rooftop is protected too from any dents or scratches. Both cargo bags will attach to your Pontiac Vibe roof rack siderails too. Cross bars aren't necessary for these bags to attach to your roof. So I'd say the 7167 Yakima GetOut is ideally suited to your day excursions to the beach.
