Default thule 400xt system with 477 short roof kit & malone kayak rack is great option

You are in luck, bluebirdsings, Thule Racks makes the Thule 400XT Aero car rack system that will install on your 2000 Honda Accord 2 door model. The additional component required however is the Thule 477 Short Roof Adapter Kit. It works in combination with the Thule 400XT Aero base rack system. The Short Roof Adaptor Kit allows the two 400XT Aero system cross bars to be distanced further apart from each other, allowing for a stable platform for safely carrying long items such as a kayak on the car rack. The Thule 400XT Aero system, itself, includes four 400XT Aero feet, four FitKit 2028 Clips (these FitKit Clips are specific to your 2000 Honda Accord 2 door) and two load bars (the 50" load bars are the recommended length for your car top). You will attach the kayak carrier to the front and rear load bars.

Requesting an inexpensive and cheap kayak rack is something we are getting alot of these days. The cost of the base rack system alone is going beyond the budget for a lot of people. Luckily there are cheap kayak racks out there that work incredibly well. A couple of my current favorites are these:

1) The Malone AutoLoader Xv j-style kayak rack uses a j-cradle design for easy loading/unloading of your kayak and attaches directly to the Thule 400XT Aero load bars. This is a very affordable solution that works just as well as othe more expnesive models. The Malone AutoLoader Xv kaya krack also uses up very little load bar space compared to other kayak carriers and will allow you to attach two of them to the 50" load bars to carry 2 kayaks at the same time if you ever need this option.

2) The Malone SeaWing Xv kayak rack is another excellent option that transports the kayak in the more traditional style laying flat. The unique feature of the Malone SeaWing Xv however is that it has a center point attachment. Meaning you can mount this close to the edge of the base rack load bars, allowing you the option to attach other gear carriers or another SeaWing Xv kayak rack if you want to ever carry 2 kayaks, without having to get longer load bars.
