the 80mm bolts in Thule XADAPT3 might work with thule ski racks on VW Touareg
Hey igoobanger, you're right the Thule fit guide dealer book does specify that all new model Thule ski racks are compatible with the VW Touareg factory rack crossbars. So sounds like something is up. If you still haven't been able to correct the problem I did uncover something interesting that might work. For the VW Touareg Thule gear carrier fit tips, Thule Racks specifies that if using any Thule watersport carriers on the Touareg crossbars that you'll need to use the set of 80mm bolts that come packaged with the Thule XADAPT3 adapter kit. You just might be able to use these bolts with the Thule 91726, 91725 or 91725 ski racks ??? Interested to see if others are having an issue too.
