Default a sweet Toyota Land Cruiser surfboard car rack is the yakima 1a raingutter/strapthang

That is not a problem that your 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser has raingutters. In fact it would be much easier to select roof rack systems if all cars still used raingutters. But i digress....I suggest installing the Yakima 1A Raingutter roof rack system, which includes four Yakima 1A Raingutter towers that mount to the rooftop raingutters, and a pair of Yakima round crossbars that attach to the 4 upright 1A towers. You can then connect a Yakima surfboard rack to the 1A Raingutter front and rear cross bars. Be sure to also get the 66" crossbars, as this is the length necessary to span the width of your 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser rooftop. To actually transport the 2 surfboards you'll want to attach the Yakima StrapThang surfboard rack to the Yakima 1A Raingutter base rack crossbars. This is a superb and reliable surfboard rack that can carry 2 surfboards easily. Adding a pair of Yakima crossbar pads in combination with the Strapthang will ensure the surfboards ride very snugly and wont get marks or anything from the crossbars. You should also visit this list of Toyota rack photos or this page of Toyota roof rack system pictures to possibly find an example of the surfboard rack setup described above installed on a Toyota Land Cruiser.
