Both the Thule 450R Rapid CrossRoad roof rack system and the Thule 450 Crossroad roof rack system will work on your 2008 Mercedes Benz GL450 roof rack siderails. Either system attaches directly to the factory rack side rails, converting your factory rack side rails into a sturdy base rack system capable of safely transporting surfboards, bikes, skis/snowboards, kayaks, canoes, camping, luggage, cargo gear etc. If you choose the modern-sleek looking 450R Rapid Crossroad version then you'll need to choose the elliptical shaped 53 inch load bars. If you go with the more classic looking regular 450 Crossroad then you'll need to choose the 50inch square shaped load bars. You can then attach any of Thule Racks various gear carriers to the load bars.
